Teen Blogging Down In 2009

One in seven teen Internet users (14%) blogged in 2009, down from 28% of online teens who said the same in 2006, according to the Pew Research Center. The number of teen Internet users who report commenting on a friends’ blog dropped to 52% in 2009 from 76% who did so in 2006. Also:

62% of online teens get news about current events and politics online.

48% of teens who own cell phones have purchased products online, such as books, clothing or music, up from 31% who had done so in 2000.

31% of teen Internet users get health, dieting, or physical fitness information online.
