Most Americans Think Advertising Claims Are Exaggerated

Most Americans think the claims made in advertisements are somewhat (57%) or very (19%) exaggerated, according to Lab42. Only 3% believe claims made in ads are very accurate.

More men than women prefer ads that “relate” to them, while more women than men prefer ads that make them aware of new products. More than nine in 10 consumers (92%) who say “sexy” ads make a lasting impression are men, as are 77% of those who think beauty ads are very accurate.
