Overweight, Low-Income Moms Linked to Overweight Kids

Infants with overweight moms in low-income homes without access to regular meals are more likely to be obese preschoolers than peers who live in homes with regular access to food, according to research published in the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Among infants whose moms are overweight, not having enough money to buy food for a balanced meal increases the risk of childhood obesity by 34%.
