Almost Half of Smartphone Owners Comparison Shop In-Store

More than eight in 10 smartphone owners (85%) use their devices to compare products and prices before making a purchase, and 45% of these do so from a retail store, according to Kentico Software. Six in 10 mobile users (63%) prefer shopping in-store over online when possible.

Screen size matters; desktop and laptop computers provide the best shopping experience. More than three quarters of smartphone owners (78%) and 75% of tablet owners say the look and feel of a company’s mobile website has an impact on whether they choose to buy via mobile. Most mobile users (78% of tablet users and 76% of smartphone users) will return frequently to websites that look good and function well on their devices. When they encounter a website that isn’t optimized for mobile, however, 44% of mobile users will never return to the site.
