One in three Americans (33%) have searched for online coupons on mobile devices, according to RetailMeNot. More than one in four (26%) have purchased items in physical stores using mobile coupons, and among these, 90% have done so in the past month.
Shoppers are especially receptive to mobile offers that coincide with retail shopping trips. More than half (51%) say they’re more likely to enter a store and make a purchase if they receive a coupon for that store while they’re nearby. More than six in 10 (63%) say receiving a mobile coupon while shopping in-store makes them more likely to buy something there. Adults under 35 and parents are more active users of mobile shopping and mobile coupons than are adults 35 and older and people without children.
