More than nine in 10 parents of children ages 4-12 (92%) describe themselves as playful, according to Materne’s apple-juice-in-a-pouch GoGo squeeZ. Yet, 74% of parents say they have problems making sure their families enjoy playing every day.
Two in three parents (66%) feel they spent more time as children engaged in unstructured play activities than their children do today. Three in four parents (75%) say the lack of unstructured play causes their children to miss important developmental lessons, including the ability to be creative (36%), communicate (36%), share (25%), and resolve conflicts (23%).
