The largest number of online shoppers visit one website before making an online purchase, according to Toluna’s Adroit Digital. Almost one in four (22%) conduct research by visiting two sites, and 28% visit more than three.
Online shoppers aren’t necessarily seeking the best deals. More than half (54%) say their last purchase was influenced equally by price and brand. The same percentage (54%) also say social media never influences their online purchases.
Online shoppers are aware that sites are tracking their behavior. Nearly six in 10 (58%) say that, after they have checked out a particular product, they notice ads for that product showing up on other sites. Most (59%) are apathetic. Only 11% dislike this tracking.
