Eight in 10 girls under age 18 say they worry about infertility, according to Cosmopolitan. Nearly nine in 10 women under age 35 (87%) worry that they might not be able to have kids when and if they are ready, and 18% assume they will definitely have problems becoming pregnant.
Three in 10 women under age 35 believe infertility issues will become worse in the coming years, and 66% say increased media reports about infertility makes them anxious about the issue at least some of the time.
And 22% say fertility worries make them more careless with birth control.
Three in 10 women ages 18-35 think women hit the “fertility danger zone” at 28 or 30. However, only 10% of couples typically have problems conceiving.
One in four women ages 18-24 are so worried about missing their window of opportunity to become pregnant that they have already altered their plans for a demanding career or graduate school. Three in 10 women ages 18-24 (30%) say their biological clock is putting pressure on their relationship “in a bad way.”
