More than a third (37%) of U.S. Hispanics describe themselves as “very” worried that they or someone in their household will become unemployed, according to a poll of Hispanic registered voters in the U.S. by Latino Decisions and Impremedia. Foreign-born Hispanics (44%) are more likely than those born in the U.S. (31%) to be concerned.
More than half (51%) say they’ve been worried many times that they won’t have enough money to pay all of their bills in a given month (no significant difference between foreign- and U.S.-born).
Hispanics cite immigration (47%), the economy (44%), job creation (21%), and education (20%) as the issues facing the Latino community that they consider most important for the President and Congress to address. [Government/Politics, Emerging Majorities]
