Nearly 65% of last minute back-to-school shoppers planned to use social media sites such as Instagram, Pinterest or Facebook for the best deals, this according to a surgery by Crowdtap.
More than 45% of those surveyed said they considered peer reviews before making a purchase, while only 33% took expert reviews into account.
The survey also indicates that more than 60% of shoppers purchased items they found on social media.
Facebook might be the obvious leader, but Pinterest beats out all the other social networks as a source of back to school inspiration.
Shoppers are not only looking for recommendations, they are also sharing ideas as well.
25% of those surveyed said they would likely share digital coupons, and 21% said they would share information about deals and sales, or link to a contest.
