20th Century Fox nets support from a range of companies for its 3D animated film Rio, in theaters April 15:
• ToyQuest’s Rio toy line, available exclusively at Toys R Us, includes a 9-inch interactive plush and a 7-inch walking and talking plush. The program is supported via a branded in-store shop with interactive merchandise, print, and digital integration.
• Videogame developer THQ releases a multi-platform, multi-player game based on the movie.
• HarperCollins is publishing a line of storybooks featuring the movie’s characters.
Other tie-ins include greeting cards featuring sound from Hallmark and a t-shirt and sportswear line for boys and girls from JEM Sportswear and Awake. [Entertainment/Licensing]
