Tonight, for the first time, a current and former president will take to the debate stage on CNN to make their case to the American people why they should be re-elected. And while we have had nearly 8 straight years of coverage of these mens politics, a new YouGov poll looked beyond that. They asked Americans to compare the men in 20 different situations, with the results seeming to say that Biden is more liked than Trump in a personal realm. But Trump comes out on top in physical and mental pursuits.
Compared to Trump, more say Biden would help a stranger (46% say Biden vs 30% Trump), be a better houseguest (44% vs 29%), give better relationship advice (44% vs 21%), be more likely to return a lost wallet (43% vs 27%), give better parenting advice (42% vs 27%), be more likely to keep a secret (41% vs 23%) and be a trustworthy babysitter (38% vs 27%).
Trump on the other hand, is seen as more likely to win arm wrestling (52% say Trump vs Biden’s 14%), and poker (47% 16%). Trump is also seen as being bale to give better financial advice (47% vs 31%), remembering birthdays (40% vs 28%), surviving on a deserted island (39% vs 24%), winning at trivia (37% vs 30%), and imitating celebrity voices (37% vs 8%).
Supporters of each candidate are more likely to believe that their chose candidate has an advantage in nearly all situations asked. However 25% of respondents who say they plan to vote for Biden believe Trump would win at arm wrestling and a similar portion say he would be better at celebrity impressions. Biden supporters are more likely to say that Trump would take more time getting ready in the mornings-while Trump supporters are split on the question, just slightly more agreeing that the 45th President’s morning routine would take longer than his successors.
