More than half of shoppers (51%) say they are more like to make a purchase from a retailer that has a mobile-specific website, but only 5% of retailers offer mobile formatted sites, according to Luth Research and Brand Anywhere. Among the issues mobile shoppers face is being confronted by a Flash programmed page, which are not viewable by iPhone users or 45% of Android users.
Mobile Web users say they visit favorite online retailers’ traditional websites an average of 3.5 times a month, but would visit an average of 6.5 times a month if they could also access visit retailers’ mobile-formatted sites, an 85% increase in brand engagement.
