The “sweet spot” for online gaming companies is 8-11-year-olds, according to M2Research and KidSay. Some 93% of tween girls and 91% of tween boys play online games.
Nintendo is the dominant handheld console among all gamers, though teen girls are significantly more likely than teen boys to play games on the Sony PSP (70% vs. 44%). Girl gamers select the Mario Series as their favorite game, while boys prefer Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
