Women are more likely than men to say they have a great deal of stress (28% vs. 20%), according to the American Psychological Association. One in two women (49%) say their stress has increased over the past five years, compared to 39% of men who say the same.
Women are more likely than men to cite money (79% vs. 73%) and the economy (68% vs. 61%) as top stressors, while men are more likely to claim work is stressful (76% vs. 65%).
Married women are more likely than single ones to say they have experienced a great deal of stress within the past month (33% vs. 22%).
