One in five consumers (21%) are doing more online shopping than they were three months ago, according to The Integer Group and M/A/R/C Research. Most of those who are shopping more online are also shopping more in general, with the exception of 35-44-year-olds — who have increased their online shopping 8% but not their overall shopping. Young adults ages 18-24 have increased overall shopping about 5%, while their online shopping has stayed flat.
Finding the best prices is the key attraction of online shopping, followed by finding the highest-quality product. Fewer than half of shoppers have bought health and beauty aids or food and beverages online.
Consumers ages 50-54 are most likely to have bought health and beauty aids online (52%).
