More than half of U.S. teens and young adults ages 15-25 (57%) consider themselves to be happy, according to InSites Consulting. Only one in eight feel unhappy.
U.S. Millennials tend to be happiest around 8 p.m.-10 p.m. in the evenings. Friday and Saturday rank as their happiest days overall, with Monday and Tuesday cited as their least happy days.
On a month by month basis, they become happier as the year progresses — this peaks during July. They also experience a slight increase in happiness during October and December.
More than one in four (28%) have never had an unforgettable moment in their lives, while 38% have had at least three such moments. Among those who have had these special moments, they are most likely to describe the experiences as happy (55%) rather than sad (14%), surprising (11%), or fearful (11%).
Brazil, India, and China rank as the countries outside the U.S. with the highest percentages of teens and young adults who consider themselves happy. Countries with the highest proportions of unhappy Millennials are the UK, Italy, and France.
