Eating Out: Millennials Want More Than Good Food

06-15-12 When it comes to dining out, Millennials do not select restaurants solely based on food, according to Technomic. As such, there are three attributes — social responsibility, food quality, and involvement in the local community — that also matter to teens and young adults when it comes to which restaurant they decide to visit.

Millennials define social responsibility as acting in the best interests for both the environment and their employees. Food quality goes beyond taste and visual appeal to incorporate sourcing elements such as using grass-fed animals. And local community involvement is defined as making charitable contributions and supporting local organizations.
