The Mini was the car brand with the highest percentage of female buyers in 2011 (46.2%), followed by Nissan (45.6%) and Kia (45.6%), according to TrueCar.com. Women made up 40% or more of purchasers of 14 auto brands in 2011.
Sixteen of the 20 brands with the highest percentages of female buyers were imports. Domestic brands Chrysler, Buick, and Jeep ranked 18, 19, and 20, respectively. Only three luxury brands made women’s top 20, with Lexus as the luxury brand with the most female buyers. Ferrari (92.5%), Bentley?(83.4%), and Maserati (82.8%) were the brands with the strongest male skew. Ferrari had the highest percentage of female buyers among “exotic” auto brands (7.5%).
