Millennials Disregard Healthy Eating Habits, While Parents Try To Serve As Role Models

Fewer than one in three 18-24-year-olds (32%) say they maintain a mostly healthy diet, compared to 48% of those over age 65 who choose healthy foods, according to Mintel. Researchers say Millennials tend to disregard healthy eating guidelines because they “generally still feel invincible and have a more naturally active metabolism, making it easier to maintain their weight.”

Meanwhile, parents try to serve as role models for healthy eating habits. Two in three moms (67%) and 57% of dads say they eat healthy foods more often in order to set a good example for their kids.
