Women would rather go a year without TV than forgo access to their cell phones (57% vs. 43%), according to DDB Worldwide Communications Group. Women are less likely than men to continually replace their phones with the newest models. Men are twice as likely as women to say they purchase the newest version as soon as it’s released (9% vs. 4%).
Women are less likely than men to say they are “different people” online than they are in person (18% vs. 27%), to say things online that they would never say face-to-face (22% vs. 27%), or to prefer to shop online (31% vs. 40%).
More than two in 10 women (22%) have at least one friend with whom they interact online regularly but have never met in person.
