Hispanics Have Less Workplace Flexibility Than Average; Asians Have More

2/3/2013

Hispanic workers are less likely than non-Hispanics to have flexibility in their working hours or location, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Asians are more likely than others to have flexible working hours and/or locations.

Asian men are more likely than Asian women to be able to adjust their working hours or locations. Black women are more likely than Black men to be able to adjust their work schedules, but they’re equally likely to be able to choose the location.

Hispanic women have greater flexibility in both where and when they work than Hispanic men do. There are no significant differences between White men’s and women’s workplace flexibility.

The majority of White, Black, and Asian workers have access to paid leave at their jobs, but the majority of Hispanics do not.
