Fashion forecaster WGSN predicts higher-end fabrics and patterns and plunging necklines will be key trends in women’s apparel for fall 2013. Other trends to watch:
- Sweatshirts as the new staple top, with four distinctions: all-over printed, feminine, collegiate, and big animal graphics.
- Pleated miniskirts referencing the collegiate schoolgirl.
- Ultra wide-leg trousers to counteract the skinny jean trend from past seasons.
- Coated and bonded fabrics, such as rubberized lace and sheer chiffon backed by wool, helping create a sense of newness among clothing staples such as tops and denim.
