Women Live Healthier Lives

4/1/13

The optimal age to achieve wellness is 34, according to a McCann Erickson survey in the U.S., U.K., Brazil, China, Japan, Peru, South Africa, and Turkey. More than half of respondents (54%) think technology is making us healthier.

Men ages 18-24 are more likely than their female counterparts to worry that their obsession with technology and social networking encourages more sedentary living and obesity. People are twice as likely to feel it’s easier for women to achieve wellness than men.

Individuals’ wellness priorities differ from those for the wellness of their children. Individually, people prioritize “remaining healthy and positive,” “eating the right food,” and “getting enough exercise.” For their children, they value “a balanced diet,” the “right amount of sleep,” and “regular exercise.”
