Women Less Likely Than Men to Talk Money on First Date

Women are less likely than men to think it’s important for couples to start discussing their financial situations at the very start of a relationship (24% versus 30%), according to Chase Card Services.

Nearly all Americans (94%) think it’s important to have compatible spending habits with their partner, though the two genders differ on reconciling debt. Women are more likely than men to sit down and talk about debt (78% versus 70%) and less likely to help their significant other pay down debt with their own money (8% versus 18%).
