Asian Americans have significantly higher incomes than members of any other racial/ethnic group, both at the household level and at the individual level, according to newly released Census Bureau data from fourth-quarter 2011. The average quarterly income for Asian American households in fourth-quarter 2011 was $22,015, compared to $18,473 for non-Hispanic whites, $12,209 for Hispanics (of any race), and $11,314 for blacks.
Individual mean income for this period among Asians was $11,336, compared to $10,569 among non-Hispanic whites. Blacks had higher individual incomes than Hispanics, $7,112 vs. $6,554.
