5/1/13

Seven in 10 Americans (71%) think they have good or excellent cooking skills, according to Sullivan, Higdon & Sink. Eight in 10 moms (82%) and 78% of women overall enjoy cooking.

The majority of moms (74%) also want to cook more often than they do, versus 61% of non-moms who say they would like to increase their cooking frequency. The main reason moms want to cook more often is because it makes them feel like a better provider.

The celebrity chef that cooks think their style most resembles varies depending on select characteristics. Women primarily say their cooking style mirrors that of Rachael Ray. Moms are more likely than men, older cooks, and those that are self-described good or bad cooks to feel their style mirrors that of Paula Deen. Men think they can cook like Emeril Lagasse. Few females think their cooking style resembles Anthony Bourdain.
