Smartphone users pay an average $12 per month on mobile games, according to Super Data Research. “Marvel: War of Heroes,” EA’s “The Simpsons: Tapped Out,” and King’s “Candy Crush Saga” were the most popular game titles.
Overall, digital games generated $832 million in total sales in April. Social games generated $120 million in revenue in April, though the genre lost 2.7 million monthly active users. Downloadable games generated $291 million, pay-to-play multiplayer games earned $82 million, and social games generated $120 million in revenue in April. [Games]
