Four in five Hispanic women read nutrition labels, according to Meredith Hispanic Ventures. One in two regularly purchases organic products and is particularly interested in purchasing products low in fat, high in fiber, and low in sugar.
Hispanic women place a high importance on convenience when it comes to food. They are more likely than adults in general to purchase disposable plates, towels, and utensils. They are also more likely to buy frozen vegetables, canned soups, and protein bars.
One in two uses a mobile or smartphone to assist while shopping. More than half (55%) use recipes downloaded from the Internet, and 60% search for recipes in Spanish. That said, Hispanic women aren’t only cooking Latino food. They express interest in learning more about global cuisines and enjoy samples and coupons that enable them to learn about and try new products.
