Moms are more likely than adults in general to say their primary mobile device is a tablet (35% vs. 25%), according to analytic agency Flurry. More than three in four moms (77%) own iOS (Apple) devices, while 23% own Android. On average, at least half of their time using these devices is spent on social networking and game apps. However, regardless of whether they own an iPhone, iPad, or Android, moms spend more time using education apps than the general population. They also skew higher in app usage with health, fitness, and shopping apps.
There are a few usage differences depending on their platform. More than half of the time moms spend using iPad and Android devices are spent playing games. iPhone-using moms, by contrast, spend less than one-third of their time on games. Meanwhile, lifestyle apps capture more of moms’ attention among iPhone users than those who use iPad or Android.
