Parents Spend Less Time With Older Children

Most parents (59%) spend time playing or talking with their children just for fun at least three times a day in 2006 — the most recent year for which data is available — up from 50% in 1998, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. Nearly as many parents (58%) praise their child at least three times a day. Parents’ interaction with their children decreases significantly as their children age. [Family]
