Baby Boomer Women Set The Itinerary For Leisure Travel

The majority of Baby Boomer women (79%) are planning to take leisure trips in 2010, according to Vibrant Nation. Of those, 40% will travel abroad.

More than four in 10 (42%) expect to spend more than $2,500 per person per trip.

Although about two thirds of the women surveyed are married, 70% make their travel decisions by themselves. Two in 10 (20%) make their decisions in collaboration with their spouse, partner, or friends. Only 5% allow their spouse or partner to make travel decisions without them.

While on trips, a slight majority (58%) prefer sightseeing trips that offer moderate or extensive physical activity. More than a third (37%) have taken trips that include an educational component, and a slight majority (57%) would pay more for trips that are educational.
