Americans spent $1.47 billion online on Cyber Monday (November 26) in 2012, up 17% from Cyber Monday in 2011, according to comScore. Online shoppers spent 32% more on purchases made Thanksgiving Day than they did on the holiday in 2011.
Equal proportions of online purchases were made from home or college campuses (47%) and work (47%).
Digital content/subscriptions (up 28% from 2011), consumer electronics (up 24%), and computer hardware (up 22%) saw the strongest growth in Cyber Monday purchases.
