Video Game Spending Down 27% In 2012

2/1/2013

Gamers spent $4.04 billion on video game hardware, software, and accessories in 2012, down 27% from 2011. One key reason for the cutback is that game publishers introduced 29% fewer titles in 2012 than they did in 2011. Nearly all of the top-selling titles in 2012 were sequels and were aimed at older gamers.
