More than nine in 10 women with cellulite say there’s a specific time when their cellulite bothers them the most, with 88% citing summertime or at the beach, according to New Jersey Plastic Surgery. Swimsuits (59%), shorts (58%), short skirts (36%), leggings (23%), and yoga pants (10%) are the top items of clothing women would wear if they didn’t have problems with cellulite.
Women with cellulite rate their overall appearance lower than women without cellulite (6.4 vs. 6.7, with 1 being extremely unattractive and 10 being extremely attractive). Women try to hide their cellulite by avoiding certain types of clothing (72%), keeping the lights off during intimate moments (28%), and avoiding communal fitting rooms (15%).
Nearly all women with cellulite (97%) say that, given the opportunity, they would change a part of their body. Of those, 82% would change their stomach, 62% would change their upper legs, 50% would change their buttocks, and 37% would change their arms. Fewer than one in four women with cellulite (23%) find their lower legs most attractive, 18% say their buttocks are their most attractive body feature, 10% choose upper legs, and 4% select their stomach.
