Men stay on the phone 13% longer than women when making calls to U.S. businesses, according to data analytics agency Marchex. Women stay on the phone an average of six minutes and 30 seconds; men talk for seven minutes and 23 seconds.
Men also speak faster than women during these calls. The average female speaks 227 words per call at a rate of 24 words per minute. Men speak 236 words per call at 32 words per minute.
Men tend to make their calls at the beginning of the day, whereas women typically place their calls after lunch.
When specifically analyzing customer calls to pest control, Marchex finds more men call for mice removal, but women are responsible for 59% of roach calls, 58% for spiders, and 56% for termites.
